Home Care Aides provide individual personal care and household assistance to their clients in the client's home.  Home Care Aides work with support from the agency Home Care Supervisors, and are assigned specific tasks through the Plan of Care.  In addition to client care, employees must attend training classes and meet the requirements for timely and accurate submission of all job-related paperwork.

Specific duties include:

  • Assisting clients with personal care such as eating, bathing, shampooing, toileting, dressing, transfers, walking, and repositioning.

  • Performing household services essential to the client's safety and care at home such as laundry, meal preparation, and housekeeping. We will also provide transportation for essential shopping and medical appointments when authorized on the Plan of Care.

  • Observing, documenting, and reporting any changes in the client's mental or physical condition, as well as any perceived changes in the client's need for care.  Home Care Aides may assist with medications as indicated in the Plan of Care.

  • Respecting the rights of clients and families to have different beliefs, opinions, cultures, and customs, while maintaining a professional attitude in all interactions with clients, their family members, and agency staff.
